Today, I am really blessed and honored to have one of my fellow Who Dares Wins Publishing authors, Victoria Martinez, grace my blog with her awesomeness. I know many of you might have pondered writing a historical novel, but where do you start? How can you get the details correct without getting overwhelmed? Maybe you have wanted to write a NF about a time period that is of particular fascination to you. But, again, where do you start? How can you make sense of it all? What details are important? How can …

Not Getting New Blog Posts?

Hi everyone,

A dear friend of mine, Hiba, asked me if I was still writing for my blog. She hasn’t recieved new blog posts in a long time. Have you been wondering that too?

I am still writing blog posts though not on a daily basis. I am writing them over at my new website haleywhitehall.com. Just jump over to my new site and subscribe. There are many options for how to subscribe as I have an account with Feedburner.

I’ve missed some of my WordPress friends! I regret that I have not been actively commenting on blogs this summer. My life has gotten hectic and I am focused on finishing two novels. However, if you stay with me I should be back to my interactive self in September! I look forward to checking out your blogs and catching up. I hope you all will go over to my new website and check out my new blog.

It is the same great blog with a great new look!

Same Great Blog, Great New Look

Dear friends and readers,

This blog is officially closed. My new blog is at my website haleywhitehall.com.

Please change your links. If this blog is bookmarked or on your blogroll.

I’d appreciate it if you subscribed/followed my new blog. It needs some love!

I’m counting on my friends and readers to help get my website going strong. Right now it looks like I’m a newbie. Which really isn’t the case since I’ve been posting daily to this blog for close to seven months. As the title of this post says my new blog will be the same as this one but it just has had a historical makeover.

I have also created a fan page on Facebook. A link to my fanpage is on my website. Please become a fan. You will receive more updates and information about me and my writing. It will be information different than my website and regular Facebook page.

Thank you for your continued support and encouragement,

~Haley Whitehall

Fun of Historic Porportions

Huzzah! Huzzah! My website launch party has begun!

I’m officially dubbing July 14th the birthday of my website: haleywhitehall.com (Yes, I know it is Bastille Day. No disrespect to the French. We can celebrate that too.)

I can hear the band playing “Wait for the Wagon,” people are dancing and there is enough food to feed an army. Wait a minute who invited the Confederate soldiers? Oh well. I guess they’re welcome too :P

Don’t forget about the contests I have going. Comment on the party post on my new site: haleywhitehall.com and you could win a $15 Amazon.com gift card. (I will draw a commenter’s name out of my kepi.) While your at my site please look around and maybe subscribe/follow my fancy new blog.

It seems awfully sad without much blog love.

On Twitter you can enter to win Rifles for Watie by tweeting a history quote and including the hashtag #lightonhistory My favorite quote will win a copy of my favorite book.

It is time Twitter had a history/historical fiction group, right?

#lightonhistory is here.

I want Twitter to be filled with #lightonhistory hashtags. This is a great time to catch up with friends or network if you’ve been living under a rock and haven’t interacted much or at all on Twitter. George Washington is even learning how to tweet. Well, it is some guy dressed up like George Washington.

Let’s have some fun of historic proportions. I look forward to talking with all of you. If you have questions for me feel free to ask. It might be my party but I give my guests free rein. All the guests except for the Confederate soldiers. They need to surrender their rifles. I don’t want to start ANOTHER Civil War.

Don’t feel bad if you come late to the party. The party is going ALL WEEKEND. Please stop in and say howdy. I just hope no furniture will be damaged by the time we’re done.

Historic Party is Almost Here!

Tomorrow I launch my historical fiction website! I’m having a launch party if you hadn’t heard. If you are on Twitter join the fun with the hashtag #lightonhistory.

There will be virtual food, historic music, a historic quote contest to win my favorite book Rifles for Watie…

And a contest to win a $15 Amazon.com gift card. What do you have to do to enter to win the gift card?

I’d appreciate it if you followed my new blog but all you have to do is comment on the party post on my new site.

I know a few of you have sneaked a peak at my website building efforts. However, the party post won’t go live till tomorrow.

Can’t make it Thursday? Don’t worry. The party starts tomorrow and will last all weekend. I’m sure by Sunday night I’ll be living off ash black coffee to stay awake! That is part of the fun. If I fall asleep at the computer just send a link to reveille and I’ll wake up :)
